FLAME FAILURE FIX

 
Q: Can you explain what puts the ignition module LH33WP003 into flame failure? I replaced a board because it kept failing in ignition. This was with gas and a good fire with the right flame signal. I installed a new board and wanted to see how it worked, as well as check the safety side of the board. When I turned off the gas, the spark came on and would shut down and keep retrying with no lock out. I had flame and pulled the flame rod. The spark would come on, shut off, and then recycle, but again, no lock out. Finally I tried pulling the ignition lead, and there was still no lockout. Any suggestions?

A: Well, Mike, I finally caught up with an installer for some insight into your questions. The first question – what puts the ignition module into flame failure – is pretty straightforward. For whatever reason, it’s not sensing a flame. It could be anything from a failed module to a dirty flame rod. It seems your bigger question is why the ignition module is not locking out. I’m hoping the following information will solve your dilemma quickly and simply. The lockout time for ignition module LH33WP003 is 15 minutes, meaning it will try ignition for 15 minutes before it performs a lockout. Hope this helps!
