IAQ is a Breeze at Totaline® Sales Centers
May is Clean Air Month, which means it’s also the perfect time to get your clients thinking about indoor air quality. People are spending more time indoors than ever before, making air quality an important issue. Don’t wait for customers to come to you with IAQ concerns – help them identify what may be problem spots and recommend ways that you as their HVAC/R technician can help.
First, help your customers understand that IAQ problems have many causes. Dryness caused by forced air heat, pet dander and pollutants like tobacco smoke can all play a part in poor IAQ. Not to mention, newer homes and buildings are constructed to be more airtight and well insulated, which can lead to poor ventilation.
It’s also fairly easy to tell if your customers are suffering from less-than-optimal IAQ. They may express that they’re experiencing dry, flaky, irritated skin. Dust, musty odors, and static cling are indicators of IAQ problems, as well as pets or smokers.
